John Gregory "Greg" Kinnibrugh

John Gregory Kinnibrugh, 59, of Itasca, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013 in the presence of his loving family. He was born on July 31, 1953 in Duncan, OK to Alfred James “Mac” and Ida Pauline (Timberlake) Kinnibrugh.

Greg was a member of the 1972 graduating class of Grapevine High School. In 1984, the Kinnibrugh family moved to Itasca where Greg and his father, Mac trained horses. On February 1, 1985, he married Karen Gail Burrus and they raised their family in Itasca. Greg worked two jobs, one being with Burrus IGA as a store manager in Riveroaks for 20 years all the while continuing his horse training business. In addition to horse training, Greg loved calf roping on the side. He and Karen became members of Trail to the Cross Cowboy Church in Hillsboro.

He is survived by his wife, Karen of Itasca; children, John Tyrel Kinnibrugh and his wife, Niki of Whitesettlement, Whitney Ann Ferrell and her husband, Chad of Grapevine, and Kylie Diana Jimenez and husband, Michel of Lazbuddie, Texas; his mother, Ida Kinnibrugh of Hillsboro; one sister, JoAnn Oder of Itasca; and seven grandchildren. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Mac; a sister, Mary Thelen and two brothers, Gary and James Kinnibrugh.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Hill County Exhibit Hall (across from Trail to the Cross Cowboy Church, 226 Stadium Drive, Hillsboro, Texas). Serving as honorary pallbearers are Sam Burrus, Keith Burrus, Kevin Burrus, Rodney Adams, Charlie Fox, Charlie King, Gary Garner, and Randy Kline.
