Evon Jean Harvey

Evon Jean Harvey, of Sanger, Texas, passed away on February 8, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on March 24, 1927 to John and Louisa Schertz.

She married the late Ben Hansel Harvey on August 5, 1944 in Tyler, Texas. She was a homemaker who loved cooking, farming, and socializing with friends and family, and was a member of the Sanger Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sisters, Dee Brown and Hazel Bishop of Sanger and Wanda Hollingsworth of Keller. She is preceded in death by sisters and brothers, A. G., Alma, Benny, Buck, Ethel, Frankie, Hooter, and Johnnie Schertz. She is survived by her four daughters, Jean and husband Lee McGilvary; June and husband, Robert Guevara; Linda Hewlett; and Teresa and her husband Reese Anderson. Her grandchildren are Risa, Charice, Lee, Missy, Bret, and Chris. Her great-grandchildren are Tanner, Tyler, London, Jess, Dylan, Bretney, Ben, Haley, Duncan, Chelsea and Mariah. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 6pm to 8pm at the Sanger Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Sanger Church of Christ with John Payne presiding over the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Bradley Boone, Brandon Boone, Rick Brown, Les Faulds, Doyle Hawkins, and Brandon Sandmann.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society or Season Hospice of Denton.
